Comedy legend Bob Hope commissioned three unique golf carts to be made in his image by George Barris, the renowned car customizer. These carts were used during the Bob Hope Classic tournament and only two of them remain, this one for sale is the second made.

Bob Hope was a comedy great who loved golf and for many years hosted the Bob Hope Classic golf tournament, which is still played today. This tournament is a crowd favorite as they flock to Palm Springs to watch top professional golfers and Hollywood stars play in the Pro-Am format.

George Barris has long made cars for Hollywood films and TV shows, his most famous of which are KITT from Knight Rider, the Ford Torino from Starskey and Hutch and the original Batmobile from the first Batman TV show. Barris has also built custom cars for film and music stars, including Elvis, John Wayne, Dean Martin, and Sonny and Cher.

    That is a very unique golf cart and well worth the price for a piece of history. I always enjoy watching the Bob Hope tournament on TV, especially for the celebs who are hacking it around.

    I also found this video of the Bob Hope cart during a Christmas parade. Checkout the flashing Christmas lights as “glasses”.
