President Obama loves golf, everybody knows that. But what’s interesting is that his golf cart is the only vehicle that he’s allowed to drive himself. We’ve all heard of Air Force One, the Presidential jet, and the “Beast”, the presidential limo, but have you ever heard of “Golf Cart One”?

At a recent event honoring Nascar driver Jimmie Johnson for his 5th Spring Cup Championship, the President Obama noted he doesn’t get to drive much anymore. Of course as president, he has members of the secret service chauffeuring him about.

“I was just telling these guys I’m not allowed to drive much these days – basically just my golf cart at Camp David – which is called Golf Cart One.” Obama said.

Many past US presidents have been avid golfers and is probably the only way that they can take a few hours off running the country and have some quiet time to themselves. Although Obama has been known to mix business with pleasure, playing a recent golf match with House Speaker John Boehner to iron out some pressing economic issues.

In this post 9/11 world the security of the US president is an ever present concern and that doesn't exclude when he is playing golf. Armed Secret Service agents follow his every swing on the golf course making sure that it's safe for the President to drive down the fairways.
