Club Car Carryall 242 Utility Golf Cart

The Carryall 242 replaces Club Car's 232 as their entry level utility vehicle

Club Car has launched their latest utility vehicle, the Carryall 242, which is their most compact & economical utility vehicle ever. The Carryall 242 replaces the outgoing Carryall 232 in Club Car’s utility vehicle range and offers upgraded style and abilities based on customer feedback from the old model.

“This versatile vehicle replaces the Carryall 232, with significant refinements that reflect customer feedback,” says Kurt Meyer, commercial/industrial marketing manager. “It’s a smart choice for college and medical campuses, security, apartment complexes and many other users.”

Club Car has aimed the new 242 at customers who require a utility vehicle to operate in smaller, congested areas. Improvements include a tighter turning circle, the best in class, increased ground clearance and a top speed of between 17mph and 19mph.

The new model is made from a rustproof aluminum frame and includes self-adjusting rack-and-pinion steering, front and rear tapered mono-leaf springs with dual hydraulic shocks, dual rear wheel self-adjusting brakes and an easy-to-use lift-style tailgate with tools-free removal. It is also small enough to fit in the back of a pick-up truck.

  • More leg room and increased comfort thanks to a shorter, more ergonomically designed dash and a spacious bench seat
  • Pedal-start
  • An improved optional canopy kit with predrilled holes in the cowl that make mounting the canopy and windshield a snap
  • Expanded lighting options
  • Expanded choice of colors: beige, classic blue, dark gray, green, red or white
  • A front cowl with an automotive painted finish for improved color matching with the rear body

The Carryall 242 is offered with either gas or electric power options. The gas cart uses a Kawasaki FE350 10.4 hp (7.8 kW) engine rated @3600 rpm and has a seven-gallon gas tank. This is the biggest capacity for any entry level utility vehicle and reduces the need for frequent refills.

For situations where noise and environmental concerns are a factor, the electric-powered, zero-emissions Carryall 242 has a 48-volt electric system with six 8V PowerDrive™ batteries. An intelligent drivetrain system, called the IQ™, delivers great low-end torque, speed and range. An optional Single Point Watering System is available that simplifies battery maintenance and extends battery life, reducing operating costs.

Priced starting at just $6071, the Carryall 242 is covered by a two-year/2,000-hour consumer limited warranty or a one-year/1,000-hour commercial limited warranty, the longest and strongest in the industry.
