Club Car Golf Cart Fire Hazard Recall

Club Car have recalled Precedent i2 and Signature gas golf carts due to a risk of fire

A safety recall notice has been issued relating to several models of Club Car gas golf carts. The recall affects 2013 models of Precedent i2 and Signature gas carts and is related to a fire hazard that can be caused by a fuel hose separating from the fuel tank.

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reports that around 950 carts are affected by this defect, but Club Car has only received 3 reports of the fuel hose separating from the tank with no injuries reported (and with this we assume that no carts have actually caught on fire).

If you own a 2013 Club Car Precedent i2 or Signature model please check the following table of serial numbers to see if your cart is one of the ones to be recalled.

The serial numbers in these gas cart models can be found on a plate positioned above and to the right of the accelerator pedal. Club Car is notifying affected customers directly or you can contact your local Club Car dealer for a free inspection and repair of the fuel system.

Don't forget it is against federal law to attempt to sell or resell used golf carts that are subject to a recall notice. So if you're trying to sell a 2013 Precedent gas cart make sure you check its serial number and get its fuel system fixed immediately.
