This is a report by the AARP’s “One More Thing” segment about The Villages in Florida. More specifically about the golf carts that the residents use to get about the community.
The Villages is home to thousands of carts, with more than one golf cart per household, many of them are custom electric carts that their owners spend thousands of dollars customizing.
The Village’s residents use their golf carts for every journey they make within the community itself. To the grocery store, doctor’s appointments, cinema and to the golf courses, of which there are 40 or so.
“We actually use our cart for everything,” says Norma Dewitt, resident at The Villages, “we only every have to fill our car once every six months because we use our cart exclusively”
The report ends with the Precision Golf Cart Drill Team doing their thing.
