The golf cart clutch transfers power from the gas engine to the wheels. Without a good working clutch you will not get off the line or accelerate properly and you will have difficulty driving when loaded or on rough and difficult terrain.

For carts that have been upgraded with performance parts so that your gas engine produces more power and torque it is a good idea to check your clutch wear or fit a new clutch. This will ensure that there is no clutch slippage that results in your vehicle having a poor response from the drivetrain.
